Puberry is a B2B SaaS platform offering an AI-powered, gamified K–12 health curriculum. Designed to be inclusive, medically verified, and engaging, Puberry helps students build lifelong knowledge about their mental and physical well-being.
Puberry is a B2B SaaS platform on a mission to ensure that every student - regardless of background, zip code, or school resources - has access to high-quality, MD-verified health education.We offer a gamified, medically verified, AI-powered K–12 health curriculum that makes learning about health fun, easy, and effective.Since 2023, we’ve launched three web-app interfaces (for parents, teachers, and students) and have already translated Puberry into Spanish to better serve the 40%+ of Hispanic-speaking families in NYC. We’ve started generating both B2B and DTC revenue. Since our full launch at the end of January 2025, we’ve reached ~300 active users through an NYC Title I Middle School and over 50% of them are using the platform daily, even outside of formal health class instruction. Puberry is now an official vendor of the NYC Department of Education, a required step for any product to be adopted by NYC public schools.

Currently, we have more than 300 students using Puberry in a Title I Middle School, where more than 50% of them have been active DAILY on the Puberry web-app, even without health class!

Demetra Mallios
Demetra Mallios is the Founder and CEO of Puberry, combining a background in global strategy, analytics, and healthtech to transform how students learn about their bodies and minds. A former pro athlete and Columbia Startup Lab mentor, she’s passionate about making health education empowering for all. As a first-generation Greek-American and former professional soccer player turned founder, Demetra brings over 15 years of experience in analytics, startups, and leadership. By the age of 23, she was leading the global women’s strategy and analytics team at Adidas. She’s worked across multiple FemTech and health startups from inception to Series A (one even exited), and even built a healthtech platform still in use at her undergraduate institution. Demetra holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Pittsburgh, and master’s from Columbia’s Engineering School combined with the Columbia MBA program. She created Puberry to make health education fun, easy, inclusive, and empowering for everyone, because understanding our mental and physical health can literally change the trajectory of our lives. Puberry’s goal now is to ensure that every student, regardless of background, zip code or school resources, can access high-quality, MD verified information.

Ismini Drosoforidi
Ismini Drosoforidi is the Chief of Staff at Puberry. Prior to joining Puberry, she worked at a venture capital firm supporting frontier technology companies that address society’s most pressing needs. Alongside her professional work, she founded It’s Just Period, a nonprofit organization leading the movement for menstrual equity in Greece. Earlier in her career, Ismini worked at the United Nations Foundation on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) team, supporting governments integrate the SDGs into national social policies. Before that, she founded and led a social enterprise focused on improving corporate transparency in CSR strategies. Ismini has been recognized for her commitment to social impact. She was named a 2023 Clinton Global Initiative Fellow and served as a delegate representing Greece at the 2022 Fora Network global summit in Canada. She holds a degree in Psychology from Panteion University and a master’s in Human Rights from Columbia University. Her research on the economic impact of period poverty was published in Columbia’s Academic Commons.

Eric Lam
Eric Lam is Puberry’s CTO, with more than 10 years of experience in AI, and a former 3x CTO and Founder backed by YC, Techstars and Google Backed. He graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and had since taken on the entrepreneurial route, while gaining international experience, including Spain, China, Colombia, and the US. He’s now come full-circle with bringing his skills into his original passion, health!
