Sonar is a personal well-being companion for young people ages 13-18 that provides anonymous peer support, navigation to resources/care and helps to identify challenges via analysis of digital activity.

"Sonar is an AI-powered platform that partners with school districts to give every studentimmediate, personalized text-based wellbeing support, aiming to detect challenges early andhelp young people thrive. Since 2022, we have supported thousands of students (30%engagement) across seven states, leading to improved symptoms, grades and attendance,while saving districts $200K+ per year."

Meet The Founder

Drew Barvir

Drew Barvir is the CEO and Co-founder at Sonar Mental Health. His personal mission is to use technology to make mental health support more accessible and preventative for young people. His passion is driven by family history with serious mental illness. Drew has spent his career investing in and leading both software and mental healthcare organizations. He has invested in companies shaping the future of mental healthcare, worked with Creyos Health, a company that focuses on cognitive testing for better brain health, and Moth, a company that provides mental health education and training, in addition to helping lead several mental health-focused non-profits. With more than ten years of experience promoting mental wellness, Drew founded Sonar to leverage breakthroughs in AI to provide adolescents with the support they need to improve lifelong mental well-being while empowering under-resourced schools with proactive mental health solutions. Drew holds an MBA from Stanford University and BCOM from Queen’s University.
